how to say I have ulterior motives in Cantonese that is grammatically correct and naturally. Thanks a lot!
@kwanyeung20 Ah, then I'd say 我有不可告人嘅目的。 ngo5 jau5 bat1 ho2 gou3 jan4 ge3 muk6 dik1
@kwanyeung20 我有其他目的。ngo5 jau5 kei4 taa1 muk6 dik1 我心懷鬼胎。ngo5 sam1 waai4 gwai2 toi1 我居心叵測。ngo5 geoi1 sam1 po2 caak1 我別有用心。ngo5 bit6 jau5 jung6 sam1 .... Do you have a context so I can pick a translation that best fits? They're all grammatically correct but sound most natural when the subject 我I changes to 佢keoi5,He/She, or 你nei5,You.
is like In English, somebody might ask "Why you are doing this?", then someone may answer " I have ulterior motives." as a joke or as a wishy-washy explanation.
