Thanks for the comments. Yes -- the current version of the site has been a relatively quick port of what we setup with our site to learn chinese, so there are areas like this that aren't perfect. Fixing them has been less of a priority than improving the site in general, and especially solving the usability problems people have signing up and downloading all of the material.

To give a small example of this, it is really not trivial to figure out how to change account settings on this (the older) version of the platform. The newer one makes this a lot easier, and also simplifies accessing things like the flashcards, etc.

We've been trying to focus on improving usability with the new version, and are planning to upgrade Popup Cantonese in the next couple of days. As I think I mentioned earlier, this should also give a considerable kick to the site speed, and eliminate the problems that some people are reporting accessing the site in China.
