Our selection for today isn't your typical KTV Wednesday song, but seeing as April 1 marks the eighth anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death, perhaps it's a suitable one. Because our selection today comes right out of the film "Eagle Shooting Heroes", a 1993 Hong Kong parody of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" and other Wuxia films. In addition to starring both Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung, of extra note is that this film was directed by Wang Kar-wei of 2046 fame.

In the clip shown, Tony Leung's character is desperate to become a God, but the only way for him to achieve this is to trick Leslie Cheung's character into telling him "I love you" three times. Implausible as the situation might be, it's the launching point for cross-dressing musical madness. In this scene Tong Leung dresses himself up as a dancer and tries to seduce a drunken Leslie. Rumor has it the lyrics for the song were written by Cheung right before filming began.

Note: if you are in mainland China and have trouble seeing this view on Youtube, you can watch this version on Youku instead.

Hi 美寶,

我都覺得好好笑! It's a spinoff of the movie 東邪西毒 by Wong Kar-Wai.

梁家輝 later in an interview said he really liked his look in the clip because it reminded him of his mother.
